FAQ
Getting started
Who is Brandtube for?
Record labels, catalog owners and artists who want their music on streaming platforms and their rights managed on YouTube.
How do I apply, and how long does the review take?
Fill in the application form on our homepage. We review every application and reply within 5 business days.
What do I need to send you?
Tell us about your catalog in the form: who you are and roughly how many tracks you have. If we move forward, we will ask for your release metadata and proof that you own or control the rights.
Distribution
How long before a release goes live?
Send us your release at least 2 weeks before the date you want it out. Most platforms publish within 5-7 days of delivery, but timing depends on each platform. It is also important for you to have enough time for pitching your music.
YouTube & Content ID
How does Content ID claiming work?
We add your tracks to YouTube's Content ID system. When someone uploads a video that uses your music, YouTube matches it and places a claim, so the video's ad revenue goes to you. If someone disputes a claim, we review it. See Copyright & DMCA for how disputes work.
Payments & reporting
What reports do I get?
You get monthly detailed reports showing streams and earnings by platform, release and track, along with every payout we make to you.
Spotify for Artists
What is Spotify for Artists and how do I get access?
Spotify for Artists allows artists, labels, and distributors to get the most out of Spotify by understanding their audiences, personalizing their artist profiles, and taking action to build their fanbases.
If you run a label that has music on Spotify, you can now use Spotify for Artists to access a number of features -including album-level data across your entire catalog (including custom date ranges), playlist pitching and other Campaign Kit tools, Music Video & Canvas uploads, and more. Labels can add multiple people to their teams, and see a log of Spotify for Artists actions taken across their team with the new Activity Page. Both artist and label teams will be able to make changes to an artist profile - whether it’s updating a bio or sharing a playlist through Artist Pick. If you’ve never used Spotify for Artists, you can check out our label onboarding guide here. Our website provides a great overview of how you can get the most out of Spotify for Artists.
To claim your Spotify for Artists profile and get access to your catalog, you’ll need a Spotify account and your work email address. If you’re the first person from your organization to request access, you’ll need the URIs of at least 3 tracks that you’ve previously delivered to Spotify. If your organization has already been set up with us, your request will go to your Spotify For Artists Label Team's Admin.
Head to artists.spotify.com/claim to get started or artists.spotify.com/c/add-team (or Settings > Create Team) while logged into Spotify for Artists to claim a label team.
