Copyright & DMCA

Brandtube distributes music and manages YouTube rights on behalf of artists, labels and catalog owners. We respect copyright and expect the same of everyone we work with. This page explains how to report infringement, how to dispute a claim we placed on YouTube, and what our clients can do if their release is taken down.
All copyright matters go to copyright@brandtube.ro.
What our clients guarantee
Every client confirms by contract that they own or control all the rights needed for each release they deliver to us: the sound recording, the underlying composition, samples, artwork and artist names. We do not distribute content when we know those rights are missing.
We deliver releases to streaming platforms and stores, which host and play them under their own terms. We can withdraw a release we delivered, but we do not control content that others have delivered to those platforms.
Report a release that infringes your rights
If you believe a release distributed by Brandtube uses your work without permission, send a notice to copyright@brandtube.ro that includes:
- Your details: full name, company (if any), email address and phone number, and whether you are the rights holder or act on their behalf.
- Your work: the title, artist and, where you have them, the ISRC or UPC of the original recording, with a link or other proof of ownership.
- The infringing release: its title and artist, and direct links to it on each platform where you found it. Include the ISRC or UPC if they are shown.
- What is infringed: the recording, the composition, a sample or the artwork, and which part of the release it concerns.
- A statement of good faith: that you believe the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- A statement of accuracy: that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your signature: a physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name is enough.
These are the elements required by the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)). We accept notices in the same form from rights holders anywhere in the world.
What happens after you report
- We check that the notice is complete and reply by email. If something is missing, we ask you for it.
- We send the notice, including your name and contact details, to the client who delivered the release, so they can respond.
- Where the notice is valid, we withdraw the release from the platforms we delivered it to. Each platform removes it on its own schedule, which can take several days.
- We tell you the outcome.
Dispute a YouTube Content ID claim
Brandtube manages Content ID for its clients. If your video received a claim that names Brandtube or one of our clients and you believe it is wrong, for example because you hold a licence, the music is your own or the match is a mistake, you have two options:
- Dispute it in YouTube Studio. Open the video's copyright details and choose to dispute the claim. The dispute comes to us for review.
- Write to us at copyright@brandtube.ro with the video link, the name of the claimed track as YouTube shows it, and your licence or other proof of your right to use the music.
We release claims that turn out to be mistaken. We cannot act on claims placed by other companies; YouTube shows the claimant's name next to each claim.
If your release was taken down
If you are a Brandtube client and we withdrew your release after a notice, we send you that notice. If you believe it is wrong or that you hold the necessary rights, reply to copyright@brandtube.ro with a counter-notice that includes:
- your name, address, email address and phone number;
- the release that was withdrawn, with its UPC or ISRC;
- the reasons you believe the takedown was a mistake, with supporting documents such as licences, contracts or registrations;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the release was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your signature.
We pass the counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice. We redeliver the release only once the dispute is resolved between the two of you or by a court.
Repeat infringement
We suspend or end our agreement with clients who repeatedly deliver infringing content, and we may withhold royalties earned by that content as their contract allows.
False or abusive notices
A notice or counter-notice is a legal statement. Anyone who knowingly makes a false claim may be liable for the damage it causes, including legal costs. If you are not sure whether your rights are infringed, take legal advice before you write to us.
